SJSU’s 2014 Homecoming game is Saturday 10/4 vs. UNLV. Kickoff’s at 5:00pm, alumni tailgate will start around 1:00.Tailgate includes all you can eat catered tacos, sides and soft drinks, beer and wine for those 21 and over. Football tickets are for reserved seats in section 108, regular price around $30.
Check out this portrait of the old Victorian that was the Gamma Xi chapter house at 123 S. 11th before the current one was built. How sweet would a framed print look hanging in the chapter house?
It’ll cost $150 for a 20″ print, and $100-$150 to have it framed. I’m looking for 15 alumni to donate $19.48 each to cover that cost. All donors will have their names engraved on a plaque that’s made part of the piece, and publicly thanked via email and Facebook. If we raise more than that I’ll get a bigger print, better frame, whatever, with remainder staying in the alumni board account.

On April 12, 2014 actives and alumni of Gamma Xi chapter came together to celebrate Founders Day with a softball game and BBQ at the chapter house. The alumni prevailed in the softball game, but everybody had fun at the field and during a BBQ that the actives hosted at the chapter house afterward. Here’s some pics of the teams and house.
The actives were stylin’ in their red sports jerseys, featuring Theta Chi letters, an American flag and some fantastic nicknames on the back.
In the end, Theta Chi won! Woohoo!
No question which team presented themselves better! Lookin’ good, brothers!
They recently replaced the sinks in the north hall bathroom with a set of steel cabinets and countertop that are much more durable than the old standalone sinks.
They painted a very nice Θηρόποσα Χείρ along the long wall, it looks amazing!
The bar has been moved to the far end of the room, and it looks GREAT down there. Opens up the space, closes off that end of the room. Absolutely fantastic.

The condition of our house a key piece of our ability to recruit members. Recent capital campaigns funded the replacement of the sundeck and the fresh paint job seen to the right. The chapter has invested money and manpower into interior painting, hardwood floors and dining room furniture.
Now we’re focused on something that’s been long overdue for years: overhauling the bathrooms, which is expected to cost approximately $50,000. We also need to return the rooms to double occupancy so the house can hold more than its current 30 man capacity.

SJSU homecoming is October 13, with the football game at 1:00pm. Brothers are starting to sign up in droves for the pre-game tailgate at 9:30, open house and dinner at the chapter house Saturday evening, and golf tournament Sunday morning at Los Lagos Golf Course.
The alumni board hosted a couple dozen alumni at Club Auto Sport thanks to the generosity of brother John Davis. Alumni board president Micah Harrel grilled up some awesome ribs. The group enjoyed a great summer evening on the patio, and got to see some amazing cars, guns and knives as part of Club Auto Sport and brother Davis’ private collection and garage.
